Hyperbaric lifeboat reception
Since the hyperbaric reception facilities were established in 1978, NUI has carried out tests with all applicable types of hyperbaric rescue units. A Dräger hyperbaric lifeboat from DSV “Norskald” was the first unit to be connected and pressurized to full depth. Later, various types of hyperbaric lifeboats and rescue units have been mated and tested with the NUI hyperbaric chamber system.
Based on this experience, and because no applicable standard for escape trunks have been introduced, NUI has invested in a numerous types of flanges and sealing units to be able to connect the rescue units to the reception facilities with the greatest degree of safety.
