Subsea Testing

NUI provides highly qualified personnel and services for testing of equipment and tools for use under pressure and harsh conditions. Our laboratory and test facility is equipped for testing and analysis of gas, chemicals and equipment.

Subsea test areas

The NUI facilities feature test areas of different sizes and depth locations for short or long term testing of equipment. In our testpool equipment can be tested in a while being monitored visually, and in our offshore areas equipment can be tested in real environment for longer periods of time.

The equipment may be lowered down using NUI’s quaside crane or A-frame.

Just next to the quay NUI have an office-container which can be used for personnel and equipment while monitoring and running tests.

The test areas next to the quay are ideal for verifying that an offshore operation will work as intended by lowering subsea modules and doing intended work just next to the quayside. This is an logistically and economically ideal way of veryfying an offshore operation ahead of the offshore project.

NUI has a deep test well for testing of intervention tools. This well is located in Onharheimsfjorden a bit south of Bergen.
